Activating Your Compass Profile
Once Selective approves your enrollment form, Radius will send you two emails:
- Welcome Email
- Your Compass Account Invite
The account creation link in the second email is valid for 7 days, please create your account before the expiration date and accept the Terms of Service. Until you accept the Terms of Service, Radius will not ship your devices.
Device Serial Number Spreadsheet in the Shipping Confirmation Email
- The shipping confirmation email you've received from Radius contains a list of OBD devices sent to you. As you install these devices, we recommend utilizing the Excel Spreadsheet with these device serial numbers to keep track of the device assigned to each vehicle. We recommend including the VIN and the nickname of each vehicle in the driver portal. For more information please read our Assigning Devices article.
After Installation - Calibrating Your Devices
- After installing your device and driving 3 to 4 miles, revisit your portal to confirm the device connection and verify the VIN and odometer have properly populated. For more information, please read our Installing Devices in Vehicles article.
Installing a Device in a Heavy-Duty Truck
- If you're driving a heavy-duty vehicle that doesn't have a standard OBDII port and requires a 6-pin, 9-pin, or RP1226 connection (Most Semi Trucks including Freightliner, International, Peterbuilt, and Kenworth), please let Compass.Support@Radius.com know. Provide your VIN list and Radius will send the appropriate adapter cables so your device can be properly installed.
Vehicles with OEM Equipment Such as Wheelchair Lifts or Snowplows
- In rare cases, OBD devices can interfere with other devices connected to the vehicle's diagnostic port potentially causing interference with other 3rd party installations (like a wheelchair lift or snowplows), please let Compass.Support@Radius.com know. Radius will then put the telematics device in “Listen Mode”. Listen Mode allows a device to receive broadcast messages without sending query messages. However, when a device is in Listen Mode depending on the make/model/year of the vehicle, there's some vehicles that do not send certain pieces of information regularly like Odometer, Engine Hours, Fuel Used, at all and that information is only captured when the OBDII device requests it. To learn more please read our Listen Mode article.
Install Devices within 30 days
- Once receiving your shipment of GPS devices, be sure to install them within 30 days. Devices must be plugged-in to receive required over-the-air updates and operate properly. Devices disconnected for excessive periods will automatically deactivate and must be reactivated remotely by Radius technical support- Compass.Support@Radius.com.
- If you'd like to request additional devices, please contact us Compass.Support@Radius.com.
